Ammonium carbonate is a colourless crystalline solid or a white powder with a strong odour of ammonia. Ammonium Carbonate is Non-combustible. It is prepared by the sublimation of a mixture of ammonium sulphate and calcium carbonate. It is manufactured by the interaction of gaseous ammonia, carbon dioxide and water vapours in the presence of a hydrogen halide.
