About Project Arth
Project Arth is the education and mental health care vertical of Vinipul Foundation dedicated to promoting mental health awareness and well-being through psycho-education, capacity building and research. With a firm belief in the therapeutic potential of creative expression, the organization focuses on supporting individuals facing mental health challenges by providing innovative interventions through art, music, dance, drama, and other forms of self-expression.
The name “Arth” (meaning “meaning” in Hindi) reflects the core philosophy of the NGO: finding meaning and healing through artistic expression. Project Arth aims to create safe spaces where individuals can explore their emotions, share their experiences, and engage in self-discovery without fear of judgment. Our initiatives target a wide range of groups, including children, adults, and those from marginalized communities, with the goal of enhancing emotional resilience and well-being.
By integrating expressive arts therapy into mental health care, Project Arth seeks to bridge gaps in conventional treatment methods and provide individuals with alternative tools for coping, self expression, and healing. Our approach is holistic, inclusive, and emphasizes empowerment, aiming to break the stigma surrounding mental health and promote a more compassionate and understanding society.

Vision
To create a community where mental health is nurtured by empowering individuals to heal, grow, and thrive. We envision a society where people are free to explore, understand, and heal their emotional
and psychological challenges in a safe and supportive environment.
Mission
Project Arth is committed to advancing mental health and emotional well-being across communities. Our mission is to provide innovative, accessible, and inclusive mental health support to children, women and diverse other groups in need. We aim to offer healing pathways to individuals, particularly in marginalized communities, by helping them express their emotions, process trauma, and regain a sense of control over their lives.
Approach
As an organization that works towards the mental health care landscape in diverse communities, we focus on 4 ways to work on our vision and mission, i.e. capacity building, wellbeing and therapy sessions, research and advocacy.
Our approach to mental health is holistic and centred around the following principles:
-
Creative Expression as Healing
We believe that art, music, dance, drama, and other forms of creative expression are powerful tools for emotional release and healing. Expressive arts therapy offers individuals a unique way to process their feelings and experiences, especially when words fail. -
Holistic Care
We prioritize the whole person—mental, emotional, and physical well-being. Our programs are designed to nurture the mind, body, and spirit, enabling individuals to heal on multiple levels and build resilience in the face of adversity. -
Inclusivity and Accessibility
Project Arth is dedicated to providing mental health support to all individuals, especially those from underserved or marginalized communities. We aim to ensure that every person has access to therapeutic resources, regardless of their background or financial situation. -
Empowerment and Self-Discovery
Our approach emphasizes self-empowerment. Through expressive arts therapy, individuals are encouraged to rediscover their inner strength, reclaim their voices, and regain control over their own healing journey. We empower individuals to take an active role in their emotional well-being. -
Safe and Supportive Spaces
We create safe spaces for self-expression, where individuals can feel heard, seen, and valued. This non-judgmental environment is crucial for people to explore their emotions, share their stories, and build connections with others who may share similar experiences. -
Breaking Stigma Around Mental Health
At Project Arth, we work actively to break the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly through creative expression. We aim to raise awareness about the importance of mental health care and promote a more compassionate, understanding society through workshops and campaigns.
By blending art, therapy, and mental health support, Project Arth fosters a healing environment where individuals can move beyond trauma, discover new paths for growth, and regain their sense of selfworth and confidence.
