Ammonium carbonate is a colourless crystalline solid or a white powder with a strong odour of ammonia. Ammonium Carbonate is Non-combustible. The chemical formula of Ammonium Carbonate is (NH4)2CO3 with a molecular weight of 96.09 g/mol. The density of Ammonium Carbonate is 1.50 g/cm 3. The Melting point of Ammonium Carbonate is 58 °C. It is prepared by the sublimation of a mixture of ammonium sulphate and calcium carbonate. It is manufactured by the interaction of gaseous ammonia, carbon dioxide and water vapours in the presence of a hydrogen halide.
