Ammonium Carbamate (NH₂COONH₄) is a white crystalline solid that forms naturally when ammonia reacts with carbon dioxide under mild conditions. It is an intermediate compound in the industrial production of urea, fertilizers, and pharmaceutical carbamates. Highly soluble in water, it readily decomposes into ammonia and carbon dioxide upon heating or exposure to moisture.
